(in Polish) Statistics in physical sciences – theory and practice 290-PS3-1STPS
Statistics in physical sciences – practice:
1) Condensed matter research: fundamental research based on absorption and emission line analysis;
2) X-ray interaction with matter, get acquainted with emission lines Kalpha1, Kappha2 and Kbeta1. Scattering mechanism. Attenuation phenomena;
3) Direct and reciprocal lattices. Diffraction conditions. Familiarization with the methods of diffraction lines position determination;
4) Get acquainted with the types of factors affecting the position of diffraction lines and the methods of including appropriate corrections i.e. atomic/ionic scattering factor, electron density, geometric structure factor, Lorentz - Polarization factor, temperature factor, etc.;
5) Familiarization with the methods of crystal structure determination: diffraction pattern, indexing, extinction rules, identification of the sample, phase analysis, targeting possible prototype structures based on accepted Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD);
6) Own analysis of emission lines. Own development of the experiment (experimental report);
