(in Polish) Ethical aspects of animal experimentation 320-ERS-1ETAL

The course will present different ethical, legal, and practical aspects of the use of animals in scientific research. The topics discussed will include the history of animal experimentation, arguments in favour and against the animal experimentation, main ethical theories about the status of animals, the idea of animal welfare, the public perception of animal experimentation, 3R principle, legal regulations and control of animal experimentation, the impact of housing conditions on results of scientific experiments. The course will also discuss ethical considerations specific to translational experiments or studies on wild animals, as well as ethical problems of animal experimentation related to development of modern biotechnology.
