The subject of Basic of Macroeconomics covers four subject areas.
The lecture provides theoretical knowledge about the fundamental problems of the national economy and its structure, the method of measuring economic activity, assumptions adopted by various economic schools in the case of macroeconomic equilibrium analysis and the role of the state in the economy. Relationships between individual aggregates, determinants of national income and reasons for incomplete use of production capacities are indicated.

Classes conducted using interactive methods: problem-solving tasks and tests, joint discussion of course topics, and guided discussion;
Individual consultations according to the lecturer’s office hours schedule, depending on students’ needs.

Learning outcomes in the area of knowledge:
MKR1_W01 (KP6_WG1) The student demonstrates advanced knowledge and understanding of fundamental macroeconomic issues, the main schools of macroeconomic thought, and theories of macroeconomic equilibrium.
MKR1_W02 (KP6_WG2) The student knows and understands the concept and types of economic structures, the factors driving structural change, and the role and functions of the state in the economy.
MKR1_W03 (KP6_WG4) The student demonstrates advanced knowledge and understanding of the relationships between the elements of the economy, possesses knowledge of methods for measuring economic activity, and is familiar with methods of calculating macroeconomic indicators.

MKR1_U01 (KP6_UW2) The student is able to appropriately select data and use it to analyze and explain selected macroeconomic problems, applying relevant indicators and statistical tools.
MKR1_U02 (KP6_UW5) The student is able to use their ability to observe, understand, and analyze macroeconomic phenomena to critically evaluate and analyze selected macroeconomic issues, applying appropriate macroeconomic aggregates.
MKR1_U03 (KP6_UK1) The student is able to present and evaluate different opinions and perspectives on the current economic situation and to apply the achievements of various schools of economic thought in discussions on the role of the state in the economy.
MKR1_U04 (KP6_UO2) The student is able to cooperate with others in tasks related to macroeconomic analysis and to apply selected norms and rules in solving specific problems.
Learning outcomes in the area of social competences:
MKR1_K01 (KP6_KK1) The student is ready to critically assess their knowledge and the information received in light of the dynamic changes occurring in macroeconomic issues and is willing to continuously update and expand their knowledge.
MKR1_K02 (KP6_KK2) The student recognizes the importance of macroeconomic knowledge in solving specific problems related to the national economy, including consulting expert opinions through the use of national and international reports.
Assessment criteria
Lectures: Written exam.
Lessons: evaluation of student activity and his individual work.
