Practical German Learning: Listening and Learning 340-AG1-3JHM

The 'combined skills' component classes for the third year of the Bachelor's degree form an intermediate level course aimed at introducing students to a higher level of language proficiency. In the course, students acquire a wide range of vocabulary at B1 level while developing their communication skills, allowing them to formulate their own opinions clearly, fluently and logically. Oral and written forms of expression are practised in order to develop discursive and stylistic-pragmatic competence.

Prerequisites (description)

Knowledge of German at a level equivalent to A2 standards. Students will: - has acquired the skills to prepare longer oral and written statements independently at B1 level; - has developed the ability to present a structured argument and counter-argument; selects appropriate examples; - developed an awareness of different styles and registers of language; - has deepened his/her knowledge of German language and culture in contrastive terms.

Assessment criteria

The final mark is influenced by: active participation in classes, oral statements, test results.
Active attendance in class is a prerequisite for receiving credit in the course (grade). No correction periods are foreseen.
Cases of students who, for serious reasons, are unable to participate in tests will be considered individually.
Attendance in class is compulsory. One absence per semester is allowed, each subsequent absence must be made up in consultation.
