Prerequisites (description)

Structurally, the course is divided into manageable units, each dealing with a pivotal dimension of the American experience. The choice of topics and materials to go with them, was contingent upon their relevance for the Polish student, their overall importance, as well as the availability of reading materials. The course is not meant to revolve around issues of very practical, day-to-day nature, such as the availability of facilities for the disabled at American universities. Rather, it shall have more profound, and intellectual matters at heart, such as the controversy relating to the affirmative action at American universities.
