Learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE, the graduate will learn and understand:
KP6_WG1 - linguistic phenomena, processes, and systems as well as theories explaining their interdependence necessary for spoken and written communication in English;
KP6_WG9 - general terminology employed in the description of cultural phenomena significant for the process of communication within integrated language skills.
SKILLS, the graduate will be able to:
KP6_UK4 - participate in debates in English – present, assess and discuss various opinions and positions with the use of integrated skills;
KP6_UK5 - use English, both spoken and written, at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
SOCIAL SKILLS,. the graduate will be prepared to:
KP6_KK1 - critically evaluate their knowledge related to integrated language skills
KP6_KO4 - create tolerance planes and cooperate in the conditions of multicultural and religiously diverse society with the use of integrated skills.
Assessment criteria
In each term, student is required to take a written test verifying their skills of reading and listening comprehension, as well as use of English based on topics discussed within the course. Moreover, the student presents an oral presentation on a topic agreed on with the teacher. The presentation is graded based on the criteria of grammatical and lexical resource, discourse management, pronunciation, and interactive communication. Student's work is graded based on the following scale:
51-60% = 3
61-70% = 3,5
71-80% = 4
81-90% = 4,5
91-100% = 5
Term grade is given based on average of test and presentation grades. The score can be risen up to 0,5 grade based on student's active participation. Two unexcused abesnces are acceptable. More absences require completing through tasks indicated by the teacher.
