The course is conducted in the form of practical exercises developing all language skills: speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
Teaching methods: communicative, grammar-translation, audiolingual, task-based, audiovisual, problem-based.

Student workload balance – participation in classes 60 hours (2 ECTS), preparation for classes, credits: 30 hours (1 ECTS); participation in consultations related to classes 30 hours (1 ECTS), which corresponds to 4 ECTS points.
Quantitative indicators – student workload related to classes requiring direct teacher participation 90 hours, which corresponds to 3 ECTS points, and student workload that does not require direct teacher participation 30 hours, which corresponds to 1 ECTS point.

Prerequisites (description)

The aim of the course is to develop the ability to actively use a foreign language in everyday communication situations, as well as the ability to understand and apply basic concepts in the humanities. Learning Russian at level A1 (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking, writing).

Learning outcomes

The student knows and understands:
problems and challenges related to language and communication and their links to the fundamental dilemmas of contemporary civilization (KP6_WK1).

The student is able to:
participate in a debate in a foreign language, present and evaluate different opinions and positions, and discuss them (KP6_UK3);
in the case of language classes, use a second foreign language in speech and writing at a level of at least A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (KP6_UK5);
independently plan and implement their own lifelong learning (KP6_UU1);
plan and organize individual and team work (KP6_UO1).

The student is ready to:
critically evaluate their knowledge (KP6_KK1);
recognize the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems (KP6_KK2).

Assessment criteria

Passing grade after the first and second semesters.
