The course focuses on the issues of socio-political life in 21st-century Britain, with particular emphasis on the peculiarities of the British political system, socio-cultural changes over the past few decades and the socio-political and economic role of Britain in Europe and the world.

Assessment criteria
attendance is compulsory
Two absences permitted; absences beyond this limit will affect students' final grade
(4a. – no more than „dobry”, regardless of the numer of points for tasks, 6a. – no more than ”dostateczny”, 8a. – failed course)
no making-up for absences in class
the final grade is based on short written assignments, tests and students' oral contributions.
The course ends with a final written exam at the end of the second semester. The exam covers the topics discussed in class in the first and second semester.
