Students acquire basic knowledge of cultural studies and the skills to analyse and interpret cultural products. In this way, they acquire and develop cultural studies competences.
EDUCATIONAL CONTENT:
- general issues in cultural studies (cultural anthropology);
- naming and characterising the components of the American political system, the most important historical processes underlying the formation of
statehood;
- factors influencing socio-cultural differences, basic ethnic minorities
- basic knowledge of cultural institutions and events in contemporary cultural life;
- basic knowledge of US history

Term 2026:

Prerequisites (description)

Students should pass "Introduction to literary studies" and understand basic terms used in literary criticism.
