Learning outcomes
1. Students know the basic terms and research methods used in diachronic linguistics.
2. Students have a systematized knowledge concerning types of language change and etymological analysis.
3. Students are able to use the terminology established in diachronic linguistics.
4. Students are able to conduct etymological analysis of selected lexemes using historical dictionaries.
5. Students are able to use their knowledge in diachronic linguistics in their professional careers (e.g. as teachers of English or translators)
