Prerequisites (description)

After completing the course, the student: • demonstrates mastery of lexical language resources necessary for formulating ideas, • uses English lexical structures fluently, including in particular phrasal expressions, advanced collocations, and idiomatic expressions, • shows awareness of English language register (formal and informal), • operates grammatical structures at the C2 level, • possesses academic writing skills enabling the creation and editing of both short and longer written forms, • effectively applies a variety of methods and techniques for acquiring and learning advanced vocabulary of contemporary English.

KNOWLEDGE — the graduate knows and understands:

KP6_WG1: linguistic phenomena, processes, and systems, as well as theories explaining the relationships between them.

KP6_WK1: problems and challenges related to language and communication and their connections with the fundamental dilemmas of contemporary civilization.

SKILLS — the graduate is able to:

KP6_UK5: use a field-specific foreign language in speech and writing at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

- attent classes (no more than two abseces per semester are allowed)

- Students failing the end-of-semester will be permitted to sit a retake.
