Initial requirements:
A student should fulfil the requirements concerning the educational outcomes specified by National Qualifications Framework designed for higher education,first cycle degree programme, within the area of the arts (preferred major: English Philology).

Teaching methodologies: discussions, the analysis of scientific texts within the area of translation studies, conversatorial lectures.

Learning outcomes
The student knows and understands:
KP7_WG1 – in an advanced manner, complex linguistic phenomena and processes within the English language, the theories explaining the relationships between them, and contemporary trends in linguistics.
KP7_WG3 – advanced terminology and an extensive methodological framework for linguistic research.
KP7_WG6 – advanced methods of analysing and interpreting texts and other cultural products from the English-speaking world within selected linguistic traditions and theories.
KP7_WG8 – an advanced conceptual framework for describing cultural phenomena relevant to the analysis of language and communication processes.
KP7_WK3 – principles of industrial property protection and copyright law.
The student is able to:
KP7_UW1 – formulate and solve complex and non-standard problems by innovatively selecting appropriate methods and tools, drawing on knowledge from linguistics or literary studies.
KP7_UW3 – conduct in-depth analysis and interpretation of various cultural artefacts using philological methods that allow for evaluating their significance in historical and cultural contexts.
KP7_UW5 – select appropriate sources and information in the field of linguistics and perform critical evaluation, analysis, and synthesis of such information.
KP7_UK4 – use English fluently and accurately in speech and writing at the C2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
KP7_UU1 – independently plan and pursue lifelong learning and guide others in this process.
Assessment criteria
To pass the first year, students must complete the tasks assigned by their respective supervisors. In the second year, they are required to submit the final version of their MA thesis. Students are expected to participate actively and regularly in classes, complete all tasks specified in the seminar syllabus, and systematically present subsequent stages of their thesis work.
Bibliography
Bibliography depends on the subject matter as discussed during given M.A. seminar courses. It has been specified in part B of this syllabus.
