Linguistics Seminar (Foreign Philology with Elements of Translation Studies)
Year 1, Semester 1
The student knows and understands:
KA7_WG1: Complex linguistic phenomena and processes, theories explaining the relationships between them, and contemporary trends in linguistics
KA7_WG11: Contemporary socio-cultural conditions of a given language area

The student knows and understands:
KA7_WG4: Advanced terminology and a developed research methodology in linguistics (including translation studies)

KA7_UK4: Engage in a debate in a foreign language, present and evaluate different opinions and positions, and discuss them
Year 2, Semester 3
The student knows and understands:
KA7_WG7: Advanced methods of analyzing and interpreting texts and other cultural products of a given language area within selected linguistic traditions and theories
The student is able to:
KA7_UW1: Formulate and solve complex and atypical problems by innovatively selecting appropriate methods and tools using knowledge from the field of linguistics and translation studies
KA7_UW5: Select and apply appropriate methods and tools, including advanced information and communication technologies (ICT)

KA7_UW6: Properly select sources and information from them in the field of linguistics and critically assess, analyze, and synthesize this information

Assessment criteria
Observation of the student's activity by the instructor, written work on a given topic (year 1), oral statements by the student, master's thesis (year 2)
Assessment criteria: performance in class, compliance with submission deadlines established for individual chapters the entire work, and presentations, quality of the presentations.
