Practical English Learning (PEL) 2 340-FA1-2PEN

The course includes practical exercises aiming at mastering all language competences: speaking, writing, listening and reading comprehension. The students also practise advanced grammar forms and vocabulary. In class they work in pairs, groups and individually. They prepare presentations and discuss them.

Prerequisites (description)

Practical Learning of the English Language aims at developing all language competences in the second year students majoring in French and English, at level C1. The course covers material to practise listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking and writing functional texts, as well as work on advanced grammatical structures and vocabulary.

Learning outcomes

Students are able to:
-- do exercises checking their comprehension of advanced read and listened texts,
-- speak confidently and fluently on any topic discussed,
-- write functional texts (email, report, article),
-- do exercises checking their knowledge of advanced grammar structures and vocabulary

90-100% excellent (5.0)
84-89% good plus (4.5)
76-83% good (4.0)
70-75% average plus (3.5)
56-69% average (3.0)
