To acquaint students with the structure and rules of writing a summary (résumé) and a synthesis (synthèse) of a text written in French.
Practicing all the stages of textual analysis and writing both summaries and syntheses.

Learning outcomes
1. Student is able to read various sentences and texts at C1 level in French properly.
2. The student knows different text types and their respective structures.
3. The student analyzes various text types of in French and is able to convey their meaning in writing.
4. The student is able to use complex grammatical and lexical structures that enable clear communication in writing.
5. The student understands the importance of cross-cultural communication in the modern world.
Assessment criteria
The prerequisites for completion of the course are:
- attendance (2 unjustified absences per term are allowed);
- active participation in classes;
- positive grades from two pieces of writing completed from scratch during the classes (1st in the mid-term; 2nd at the end of the term).
