The classes in the "Reading and Writing 2" component for the second year of first-cycle studies form an intermediate-level course, the aim of which is to introduce students to a higher level of language proficiency. During the course, students acquire a wide range of vocabulary at B2 level while developing their communication skills, which makes it easier to formulate their own opinions in a clear, fluent and logical manner. The classes practice oral and written forms of expression in order to develop discursive and stylistic-pragmatic competence. The aim of the classes is to develop receptive and productive skills at the B2 level, including:
- understanding the general meaning of a text, searching for detailed information, understanding vocabulary from context, interpreting content, etc.
- developing the ability to formulate various types of written texts (functional texts, essays, short stories, etc.)

Teaching methods: presentation of new material, consolidation and application in authentic communication, (individual work, in pairs, group work, consultations)

Participation in exercises: 30 h (1 ECTS).
Participation in consultations: 5 h (0.2 ECTS).
Preparation for exercises: 15 h (0.8 ECTS).

Assessment criteria
The final grade is influenced by: active participation in classes, written assignments.
The condition for obtaining a credit in the course (grade) is to write all written assignments. There are no correction dates.
The cases of students who, for serious reasons, will not be able to participate in the tests will be considered individually.
Class attendance is obligatory. One absence per semester is allowed, each subsequent one must be made up for during consultations.
Goethe-Institut B2, C1, C2 certificates and DSD certificates exempt from participation in classes. The certificate does not exempt you from the exam.
