Term 2024:
The purpose of this course is to present on overview of SEN (special educational needs), providing principles for teaching students with SEN in the mainstream English classrooms in primary and secondary schools. The course will also address the general needs of students with SEN, discussing techniques which promote inclusions and dealing with common areas of difficulty. Students will be able to recognize the main types of SEN and address the key problems areas which commonly affect learning. They will be provided with practical tips on planning and classroom management which benefit all students, not only those with SEN. Students will learn how to develop language skills in students with special educational needs, including vocabulary and grammar. Student will discuss strategies that can be implemented to enable learners to succeed in formal assessment. They will also learn to use assistive technology to support SEN learning. |
