Learning outcomes
Graduates know and understand:
- basic translation concepts and translation methods and strategies (KP6_WG7),
- basic conceptual apparatus used to describe cultural phenomena relevant for the analysis of language and communication process (KP6_WG9),
- historical and cultural conditions of a given language area (KP6_WG11),
- rules on the protection of industrial property and copyright (KP6_WK3).
The graduate can:
- formulate and solve complex problems by selecting appropriate methods and tools using knowledge from the field of language science and translation (KP6_UW1),
- communicate using specialized terminology in the field of linguistics and translation, taking into account socio-cultural elements (KP6_UK1),
- speak and write in a directional foreign language at level C1 of the European description system for language learning (KP6_UK5).
The graduate is ready to:
- recognition of the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems (KA_KK2),
- compliance with the principles of professional ethics and requirements of others (KP6_KR1).
Assessment criteria
The subject ends with an assessment. The assessment takes into account the student's activity in the classroom, work in the group, the average of assessments for independent written translation of media texts from Russian into Polish (control work), passing home exercises.
The Student has the right to two absences without having to justify and make amends.
Each subsequent absence needs to be made up (the method and extent determined individually).
