Prerequisites (description)

The aim of the course is to teach the language by developing all language skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension. These goals are to be achieved by: shaping correct pronunciation and intonation, mastering accenting, learning proper reading (phonetically, intonationally and accentuating), developing correct grammar, spelling and punctuation habits, shaping skills in formulating written texts, e.g. summarizing read texts, editing own texts (essays, letters, stories, etc.), introducing, consolidating and expanding vocabulary, shaping the ability to formulate oral statements in the field of lexis learned, developing dialogue skills, exercises in understanding texts from listening, etc.

Assessment criteria

Methods and tools: exercises, discussion, student's own work, group work, project work.
Formative assessment: written works on a given topic, oral statements of the student on a given topic, prolonged observation of the student by the teacher, assessment according to criteria.
Summative assessment: a written essay on a given topic, an oral statement by a student on a given topic, a written grammar test, an oral presentation on a given topic prepared by a group of students, assessment according to criteria, a written exam (dictation, grammar test).
