Learning outcomes
1. Be able to prepare typical written work in Russian (dissertation, characterisation, short story) using newly learned lexis (related to the topics: post, cooking and nutrition, clothing, shops and other public places, museum, cinema, theatre, transport, health care), basic spelling rules learnt in the first and second year of studies (spelling of unaccented vowels in stems, spelling of prefixes, use of soft and hard signs, spelling of "n" and "nn", spelling of "not" with different parts of speech, spelling of adverbs), grammatical (declension, conjugation) and stylistic rules of the Russian language mastered in class and from other sources; (KA6_WG1, KA6_WG2, KA6_WG4, KA6_WG5, KA6_WG6, KA6_WG9, KA6_UW1, KA6_UW2, KA6_UW7, KA6_UK4, KA6_UK5, KA6_UO1, KA6_KK1, KA6_KK2).
2. Can prepare oral statements in Russian using the basic phonetic (articulation of accented and unaccented vowels and consonants, basic rules of Russian intonation), grammatical (declension and conjugation) and stylistic rules of the Russian language and newly learned lexis (related to the topics: post, cooking and nutrition, clothing, shops and other public places, museum, cinema, theatre, transport, health care), mastered in class and from other sources; (KA6_WG1, KA6_WG2, KA6_WG4, KA6_WG5, KA6_WG6, KA6_WG9, KA6_UW1, KA6_UW2, KA6_UW7, KA6_UK4, KA6_UK5, KA6_UO1, KA6_KK1, KA6_KK2).
3. is able to use basic concepts of linguistics in Russian (names of parts of speech, names of grammatical categories, etc.), which enables him/her to deepen his/her knowledge of orthographic and grammatical rules, learnt in the first and second year of studies, and to use specialised sources (dictionaries, etc.) effectively; (KA6_WG4, KA6_UW2).
4. is able to search, analyse, select and use information related to the subject matter of the course, using a variety of sources and methods (fiction, professional literature, press, Internet); (KA6_UW6, KA6_UW7).
5. is able to work and cooperate in a group during discussions and in the preparation of project work, taking various roles in it; (KA6_UO1, KA6_KK1, KA6_KO1, KA6_KO2).
6. is able to perceive the Russian language comprehensively with awareness of its complexity and variability of meanings. (KA6_WG1, KA6_WG9, KA6_KK2).
Assessment criteria
Credit for exercises in winter and summer semesters, examination in summer session.
Current evaluation and final evaluation of exercises:
The semester grade is given on the basis of the marks from written assignments (essays, dictations, grammar tests, question papers) and on the basis of the marks from oral statements (including homework). Students' participation in class (regularity and activity) is also taken into account in the assessment. Obtaining a pass mark in exercises is a prerequisite for taking an exam (in the summer session).
During the semester, 4 absences are allowed. Absences 5-8 are counted during consultations. Absences in excess of 8 do not qualify a student to pass the course (the absence limit is not taken into account in the case of illness - a doctor's excuse is obligatory, which must be submitted no later than one week after returning to classes). Attendance at the announced control work is compulsory regardless of the use/non-use of the limit of permitted absences. Review papers that are subject to compulsory revision must be passed within two weeks of the day on which the whole group wrote. In the case of long-term illness, this time is agreed individually with the lecturer, but the improvement of the work must not take place later than two weeks after the student's return to classes.
The student is required to work systematically throughout the semester. The semester grade for exercises is given on the basis of partial grades. For this reason, "mass" grade corrections at the end of the semester are not allowed. A minimum pass mark (3.0) at the semester credit is obtained by a student whose average partial mark is higher than 2.7.
Compulsory corrections of control papers are lexis and spelling tests (not including dictations) and grammar colloquia. Each student may write a given test paper a maximum of three times.
The marks for dictations, essays, homework and class work are not subject to correction. A single failing grade in this area does not prevent a student from gaining credit at the end of the semester, but these grades are included in the average of all grades for the semester.
Exam: consists of 4 parts: dictation, grammar test, essay, oral answer. Assessment according to criteria.
In the event of circumstances which make it impossible to conduct the examination in the traditional manner (e.g. pandemic), the form of the examination is changed; the examination in such situations is in written form and consists of 1 part (lexical-grammatical-orthographic test + longer written statement).
