Student
- has a structured and in-depth general knowledge including terminology, theory and methodology in the selected field of linguistics / literary studies;
- has a structured and in-depth detailed knowledge of the selected field of linguistics / literary studies and related fields;
- is able to carry out and formulate a critical analysis and interpretation of various types of texts and source material on the basis of acquired theoretical knowledge;
- is able to synthesize various ideas and views, select and apply methods to develop his own research results;
- is able to substantively argue, using other people's views;
- is able to prepare a synthetic monographic work in a selected field of linguistics / literary studies;
- is aware of the theoretical and methodological preparation for independent work on a scientific dissertation and the need for continuous training and development;

Assessment criteria
Observation and evaluation of student activity by the instructor. Participation in consultations, group workshops , discussions, work in archives and libraries (excerption of source material, bibliographic queries, etc.).
Forms of course credit: partial credit, master's thesis, master's exam.

The set of proposed subject literature is determined by the topics of the master's theses conducted in a given didactic cycle.
