Learning outcomes
The student knows and understands:
- complex linguistic phenomena and processes, theories explaining the relationships between them and contemporary trends in linguistics KA7_WG1,
- complex translation concepts and translation methods and strategies KA7_WG6,
- advanced methods of analysis and interpretation of texts and other cultural products of a given linguistic area within selected linguistic and linguistic traditions and theories KA7_WG7,
- advanced methods of analysis and interpretation of texts within selected literary traditions and theories KA7_WG8,
- in-depth conceptual framework used to describe cultural phenomena important for the analysis of language and the communication process KA7_WG9,
- in-depth conceptual framework used to describe cultural phenomena important for the analysis of literature of a given language area KA7_WG10,
- contemporary socio-cultural conditions of a given language area KA7_WG11,
- problems and challenges related to language and communication and their complex connections with the fundamental dilemmas of modern civilization KA7_WK1.
Student is able to:

Assessment criteria
The course ends with a final grade. When grading, the student's activity in classes, presentation of translation problems and solutions, and the average grade for independent written translation of texts (control work) and completion of home exercises are taken into account.
Attendance at exercises is mandatory. In the event of an absence due to illness, the student is obliged to immediately present a sick leave within 7 days after the end of the leave. Missing more than 5 classes in a semester will result in failure to obtain credit.
Obtaining positive semester grades in the exercises is a condition for being admitted to the exam in this subject.
