Prerequisites: The student should have sufficient knowledge of vocabulary and grammatical structures of a foreign language to undertake language courses at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Student workload balance:
- participation in language courses (60 hours, including 48 hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours of asynchronous remote instruction),
- participation in consultations (5 hours),
- student's own work at home (10 hours),
Quantitative indicators:
- student workload related to classes requiring direct teacher participation - 2.6 ECTS;
- student workload related to independent work - 0.4 ECTS.
Rules for the use of artificial intelligence (AI):
The use of AI systems during classes is permitted for the following purposes:
1. Machine translation of source texts from foreign languages.
2. Searching for and organizing scientific sources.
3. Creating simulations and modeling of physical phenomena discussed in lectures.
In the event of violations of the above principles, the student may be held accountable under separate disciplinary regulations.
Teaching methods used: consultations, literature review, homework assignments, and problem-solving group discussions.
The language course is conducted through practical exercises in all language skills: speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Knowledge is assessed through written tests, written essays, and presentations in a selected field of physics using a foreign language.

Learning outcomes
Skills: Graduates are able to:
KP6_UW6 learn independently, finding necessary information in professional literature, databases, and other sources, and critically evaluate information from unverified sources;
KP6_UK1 present and explain basic facts about phenomena and laws of physics in an accessible manner, and communicate effectively with both specialists and non-specialists in the field of physics;
KP6_UK4 use English in the field of physics, in accordance with the requirements specified for level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
KP6_U01 organize their own work and that of their team;
KP6_UU1 engage in lifelong learning and inspire and organize the learning process of others.
Social competences: Graduates are ready to:
KP6_KK1 critically evaluate their knowledge and the content they receive;
KP6_KO1 fulfill social obligations and refute disinformation regarding their acquired knowledge;

Grade-based assessment.
Depending on applicable regulations, the final assessment or final exam may be conducted electronically, including in the form of a test on an online learning platform.
