Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
1. The student knows 4 and 7 layers models of the network and is able to characterize their individual layers (known principle of the fundamental protocols of each layer). KA6_WG9
2. The student knows how to divide the network into subnets and VLAN technology. KA6_WG9
3. The student knows the principles of switching and routing (static and dynamic) KA6_WG9
4. The student knows the principles of securing the network devices (ACL, firewall and VPN) KA6_WG9
Skills:
5. The student is able to configure the network interfaces and capture, log and analyze data transferred between two devices for the purpose of troubleshooting network. KA6_UW12, KA6_UU1, KA6_KO1
6. The student is able to divide a network into subnets. KA6_UW12, KA6_UU1, KA6_KO1
7. The student is able to perform a basic configuration of the programmable switch and programmable router, run static and dynamic routing in a small network. KA6_UW12, KA6_UU1, KA6_KO1
8. The student is able to set up an encrypted VPN tunnel between routers. KA6_UW12, KA6_UU1, KA6_KO1
9. The student Is able to configure the security of network devices (ACL, firewall - iptables, VPN tunnel). KA6_UW12, KA6_UU1, KA6_KO1
Assessment criteria
Form of lecture assessment: written test. Assessment of laboratory exercises: exercises reports, activity in the class.
