Learning Outcomes:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of how social factors intersect with ecological issues in urban contexts.​
Critically analyze urban ecological challenges through sociological theories and concepts.​
Propose socially informed strategies for promoting sustainability and resilience in urban environments.​
Engage in interdisciplinary discussions linking sociology with urban ecology and environmental studies.

Teaching methods: The course employs a blend of lectures, case studies, group discussions, and fieldwork. Students will engage with the EURECA e-learning modules, participate in collaborative projects, and conduct analyses of local urban ecological initiatives, applying sociological perspectives to real-world scenarios.

ECTS credits: 5
Balance of student workload: participation in classes - 30 hours, consultations - 3 hours, preparation for classes - 40 hours, preparation for a final test - 50 hours, final test - 2 hours. Total 125 hours.
Student workload related requiring direct teacher participation - 35 hours (1,4 ECTS). Student workload that does not require the teacher's direct participation - 90 hours (3,6 ECTS).
