Prerequisites (description)

The objective of the course is to offer an introduction to the most important aspects of contemporary politics, economy, and society of the Republic of India. The primary focus will be on politics: describing the political system of India, including the federal structure and electoral mechanism, main challenges in domestic politics, as well as New Delhi’s foreign policy objectives. Beyond the above, the course will also cover the key processes taking place in Indian economy and society, as well as some of the nation’s security-related challenges.

The test will cover terms to be explained as well as questions to be answered in longer form (3-4 sentences).
