Course content
1. The concept of creativity. Mechanisms of creative processes. The creativity of humans, animals, and machines.
2. Negative aspects of human creativity.
3. Neurobiological foundations of creativity. The role of the body in the process of creative thinking.
4. Diagnosis of preferred styles of thinking and acting. Developing creative self-awareness; assessing individual resources and needs.
5 Developing cognitive curiosity, encouraging question-asking, seeking contradictions, and going beyond established patterns.
6. Developing creative imagination by stimulating mental operations such as association, abstraction, metaphorization, thinking through images, analogies and patterns, transformation, and inductive and deductive reasoning.
7. Divergent and convergent thinking – creative problem-solving.
8. Developing creative expression through visual arts, music, literature, and theatre as means of expression.

KA7_WG13 – The student knows and understands strategies and techniques of creative writing and creative thinking.
Skills
P7S_UW – The student is able to apply acquired knowledge in order to formulate and solve complex and non-routine problems, and to perform tasks innovatively under unpredictable conditions by appropriately selecting sources and information derived from them, as well as by evaluating, critically analysing and synthesising, creatively interpreting, and presenting such information.
KA7_UW6 – The student is able to propose creative solutions in the design of websites, applications, and products.
Social competences
P7S_KO – The student is ready to fulfil social responsibilities, to inspire and organise activities for the benefit of the social environment, to initiate actions in the public interest, and to think and act in an entrepreneurial manner.
KA7_KO1 – The student is ready to initiate and actively participate in activities supporting the development of social and cultural life, using knowledge from the field of social communication.
KA7_KO2 – The student is ready to actively participate in business and pro-social initiatives, using knowledge from the field of design.
P7S_KR – The student is ready to perform professional roles responsibly, taking into account changing social needs.

Assessment criteria
Assessment is based on class participation (60%) and on the outcomes of teamwork, projects and practical exercises, as well as presentations (40%).
Two absences are permitted. Each additional absence must be made up in a form agreed upon with the course instructor.
Students are required, individually or as part of a team, to prepare and present during class one project or presentation, or alternatively to prepare, explain, and conduct for the group an exercise based on a selected technique for stimulating creative thinking, and to achieve at least 70% on a test covering 10 basic concepts in the field of creativity (satisfactory grade).
To obtain a good grade, students must prepare two presentations and achieve 80% on the test; to obtain a very good grade, they must prepare three presentations and achieve at least 90% on the test.
