Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes and methods of their verification:
**A) Knowledge – the student knows and understands:**
W1. At an advanced level, the impact of new communication technologies on the transformations of contemporary music culture, with particular attention to the relationship between music and social media (P6S_WK; KA6_WK2).
W2. Key issues related to digitalization, globalization, and postmodern changes in music reception and creation in the 21st century (P6S_WK; KA6_WK3).
W3. The specificity of internet culture language and the cultural studies terminology necessary for analyzing contemporary musical phenomena (P6S_WG; KA6_WG3).
*Verification methods:* final essay, student presentations, moderated discussion.
**B) Skills – the student is able to:**
U1. Use basic methods of analysis and interpretation of various cultural forms (e.g. songs, music videos, memes, TikTok trends) in the digital and media context (P6S_UW; KA6_UW2).
U2. Formulate critical statements and arguments about musical phenomena and their connection to internet culture, using appropriate terminology from cultural studies (P6S_UK; KA6_UK1, KA6_UK2).
U3. Read and interpret cultural texts (song lyrics, visual representations, performative practices on social media) using a variety of sources and research methods (P6S_UU; KA6_UU2).
*Verification methods:* group presentations, active participation in discussions, analytical essays.
**C) Social competences – the student is ready to:**
K1. Critically participate in cultural life in the digital age, using various forms of musical expression and analyzing new aesthetic phenomena in the space of social media (P6S_KK; KA6_KK3).
K2. Collaborate in a team and engage in dialogue on cultural transformations, with respect for diverse musical opinions and experiences of others (P6S_KO; KA6_KO2).
*Verification methods:* active group work, team presentations, assessment of contributions during seminar discussions.
Assessment criteria
Participation in discussions (engagement, quality of contributions, substantive argumentation) – 30%
Group presentation (analysis of a selected musical or aesthetic phenomenon) – 40%
Final assignment (analytical essay or creative project exploring a selected topic) – 30%
The final grade is a weighted average of the above components.
