Teaching methods: lectures using multimedia presentations, engaging students in asking questions during the lecture; in-class tutorials using papers/multimedia presentations presented as part of student group work, discussion, and engaging exercises in the form of tests, quizzes, etc.

Prerequisites (description)

The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge of state aid in its broadest sense, primarily aimed at enterprises and other economic entities. Students should master the basic concepts of state aid, including its definitions, forms, and types, as well as be familiar with the relevant national and EU regulations. Recognizing situations in which financial support from public funds does not constitute state aid is also crucial. Furthermore, students will become familiar with the principles and scope of regional investment aid granted by the European Union.

Learning outcomes

The student knows:
the rationale for state intervention in the economy;
the concepts of public aid;
the instruments used in the process of granting public aid financed from domestic and international funds;
The student is able to apply the acquired knowledge in the field of:
the financing of entities with public funds;
public aid in the development and evaluation of projects financed from public funds.

Assessment criteria

Teaching methods: lectures using multimedia presentations, with active student participation through the opportunity to ask questions and participate in class discussions; exercises including student-prepared presentations.
Course assessment:
lecture – assessment based on a final test;
exercise – assessment based on active participation in classes, problem-solving, and involvement in the preparation and presentation of a presentation on the financing of selected entities from public funds.
