Teaching methods - seminar lecture, consultations, e-learning classes.

Balance of student workload - participation in classes 50 hours, preparation for classes and examinations 55 hours, participation in consultations related to classes 43 hours, exam 2 hours. Total: 150 hours, which corresponds to 6 ECTS points.

Quantitative indicators - student workload related to classes requiring direct teacher participation 75 hours, which corresponds to 3 ECTS points, and student workload not requiring direct teacher participation 75 hours, which corresponds to 3 ECTS points.

The basic scope of the lecture is as follows:
1. The definition of human rights.
2. The evolution of human rights – from philosophy to legal regulation.
3. Freedoms and rights. Human and fundamental rights.
4. Sources of protection. Systems of legal protection.
5. Role of the UE organs in creation of system of extra protection of human rights in Europe.
6. Council of Europe – aims, principles, activities.
7. Means of protection and control - human rights practice and violations in UE.

KNOWLEDGE, graduate of:

- has in-depth knowledge of general legal disciplines (jurisprudence, political and legal doctrines) and historical legal disciplines in the context of human rights issues - KA7_WG2;

- knows the Polish law system, the existing links within this system as well as the relations and connections of Polish law with European Union law and with international law in the context of human rights issues - KA7_WK4.

SKILLS, graduate of:

- sees the relationship between legal phenomena and other cultural and social phenomena in the context of human rights issues - KA7_UU2;

- having regard to the issue of human rights: uses the acquired knowledge to resolve legal dilemmas and issues that are ambiguous in interpretation; can indicate possible solutions, while maintaining ethical standards - KA7_UW4.

SOCIAL COMPETENCES, graduate of:

- can independently and critically supplement knowledge and skills, extended by an interdisciplinary dimension - KA7_KK2.
