New Technologies in Supporting Children's Socio-Emotional Development Competences 380-ERA-7JWG
The classes will be devoted to the use of modern technologies in developing children’s social and emotional competences. Participants will become familiar with selected programmes, applications, interactive modules, and educational tools that can support children in recognising emotions, communication, cooperation, empathy, self-regulation, and coping with social situations.
During the classes, examples of the practical use of technology in social and emotional skills training will be discussed. Particular attention will be given to the Photon educational robot, which can be used as a tool supporting work with children in the areas of understanding emotions, building relationships, developing communication, and practising social behaviours in a safe and engaging environment.
Objectives:
- to familiarise participants with selected technologies supporting children’s socio-emotional development,
- to develop skills in using the Photon robot in social and emotional competence training,
- to explore educational applications and modules useful in working with emotions, communication, and social relationships,
- to develop the ability to critically evaluate technological tools used in education and therapy,
- to learn examples of good practice in the responsible use of new technologies in work with children.
- to develop the ability to design classes and activities using new technologies and AI-based tools

Efekty kształcenia
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- identify examples of technological tools that support the development of children’s socio-emotional competences,
- describe possible applications of selected programmes, applications, interactive modules, and educational tools in work with children,
- select appropriate technological tools for specific educational or therapeutic goals,
- use the Photon educational robot to support the development of children’s social and emotional competences,
- critically evaluate the benefits and limitations of using technological tools in education and therapy,
- design classes and activities incorporating new technologies and AI-based tools to support children’s socio-emotional development.
Kryteria oceniania
To pass this course, students must:
1. Actively participate in all classes
2. Prepare and present a lesson plan using new technologies and artificial intelligence (AI)
3. Attendance during classes
