Gender, Sexuality, Popculture 480-ERS-1GSP
The aim of the course is, on the one hand, to familiarize students with the basic changes in the definition and understanding of gender and sexuality within the social sciences over several decades. On the other hand, it is to look at popular cultural representations of masculinity, femininity or sexuality as such. Particular emphasis will be placed on the social consequences of the existence of such representations as well as the challenges associated with diversity policy in show business.

You are expected to actively participate in our discussions.
Three extra points translate into a better note/grade for the semester. Your final grade will be raised by half a point (e.g. from the grade of 4.0 to the grade of 4.5)
Final project (presentation) ”Pick an issue”
The team (2 people) or a person should pick a gender-related issue and prepare a presentation based on a chosen scientific article. Please search for the article strictly connected to gender studies. Please note that the text needs to be accepted by the lecturer beforehand and your project should be presented during the classes
