Sociology of Education 480-ERS-1SOE
The aim of training in the sociology of education is to familiarise course participants with the key terminology of this discipline, the areas of its main interest and exploration, the repertoire of developed explanations of processes and phenomena occurring in upbringing, educational and educational environments, sociological perspectives as well as the possibilities of applying sociological interpretative models in the analysis, interpretation and solution of currently observable problems in the sphere of practical educational activity.

Efekty kształcenia
Student knows and understands the definitions of the most important sociological terms, is able to indicate specific problems undertaken by sociology; he/she is also able to look at them in the context of education KP6_WG1
Student knows the most important theoretical and methodological positions in sociology; he/she is able to apply them in the context of education KP6_WG2
Student uses the acquired knowledge to solve dilemmas arising in professional work KP6_UW9
Student is able to substantively argue with the use of various authors' views and to formulate conclusions in scientific works (essays, annual and term papers) KP6_UK1
The student is able to prepare an oral presentation on a given topic connected with the studied issues, using sociological sources KP6_UK2
Student is able to prepare a multimedia presentation KP6_UO2
Student is aware of changes in terminology and methodological orientations within sociology. KP6_KK1
Student is open to work in a group, being able to take various roles in it. Recognises the need for creative leadership of a human team. KP6_KO2
The student is aware of the necessity to plan in time the performance of particular tasks. KP6_KO3
Student is aware of the complexity and multifaceted nature of social life, and is sensitive to the phenomenon of cultural relativism KP6_KR4
Kryteria oceniania
During lectures and exercises the subject content is discussed using multimedia tools, discussions, lectures, teamwork, consultations.
Course completion form (exercises):
- written work (team presentations) on selected topics, performance of tasks during exercises and activity during classes
- getting a positive mark from a written paper (from 51% of points possible to obtain)
Course completion form (lectures):
- a written paper, a colloquium and activity during classes
- successful completion of written assignments (minimum 51% of points possible to obtain)
