Cognitive Science of Science 500-KS1-3CSS5
The Cognitive Science of Science is an interdisciplinary field that examines how scientific knowledge is generated, evaluated, and communicated through human cognitive processes. Drawing on insights from cognitive psychology, philosophy of science, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and social science, the field investigates how scientists form hypotheses, solve problems, reason with evidence, make discoveries, and develop theories. It also explores the cognitive biases, heuristics, creativity, and collaborative practices that influence scientific thinking. By studying science as a human cognitive activity, the Cognitive Science of Science seeks to better understand the mechanisms underlying scientific innovation and the growth of knowledge.
