(in Polish) Borderland Studies 480-ERS-2BOS
The course pivots around the categories of national and civilizational borderlands, as well as the border, both in formal and legal terms (Act of October 12, 1990 on the protection of the state border, Journal of Laws of 1990, No. 78, item 461) and in a broader sense, as they are used – in various versions – for the use of sociology, cultural studies, cultural anthropology, etc. During the classes, students analyze and discuss the functions of borders and their variability in relation to the political system, as well as other political and cultural issues, including identity, language, etc., and social issues related to the border and borderland.
