The content of the lecture:
1. What is chemical metrology?
2. Traceability of measurement results - how to provide it. SI units. Metrological reference.
3. Uncertainty of measurements results. Principles.
4. Calculations of standard, combined and expanded uncertainty of results. Uncertainty budget. Statistics for analytical chemistry.
5. Validation of measurements procedures – different approaches. Validation parameters.
6. Reference materials and certified reference materials. Selection and use of reference materials.
7. Internal and external Quality Control (QC) in analytical laboratory. Inter-laboratory comparisons and proficiency tests (PT).
The content of the laboratory:
1. Statistical evaluation of measurement results: mean, median, standard deviation, relative standard deviation.
2. Traceability of measurement results. Calculation of uncertainty according to GUM: uncertainty types A and B.
3. Calculation of uncertainty according to GUM: construction of model equations, calculation of combined uncertainty and expanded uncertainty.
4. Building of an uncertainty budget.
5. Validation of analytical methods. Estimation of parameters of method: linearity, sensitivity, limit of detection, limit of quantification, precision, repeatability, reproducibility.
6. Validation of analytical methods. Estimation of accuracy, trueness. Validation raport.
7. Calculation of performance indicators for inter-laboratory comparisons and proficiency tests.
